Come to AAUP NC’s expert panel event! \nThis panel will be a conversation between experts from the North Carolina Environmental Justice Network (NCEJN)\, NC Warn\, Clean Water for North Carolina\, and Community Land and Power. This panel will help you understand the connections between generative “AI” use\, data centers\, and environmental harms. Panelists will also discuss community organizing strategies that can help you take action in your community. After the panel\, we’ll have snacks\, conversation\, swag\, and button making. Come hang out with AAUP NC and your NC State community and start planning the actions you will take to make a difference! \nThe American Association of University Professors (AAUP) is a union of professors\, graduate students\, and researchers devoted to protecting academic freedom\, shared governance\, and the role of the university in supporting the public good. The AAUP NC’s Genuine Intelligence Project is a grant-funded AAUP project that interrogates the uncritical adoption of generative “AI” in the university.
