SUMMARY:Duplin County Water Warriors Training
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in protecting our water from CAFO contamination? Join the Duplin County NAACP\, Cape Fear River Watch (CFRW)\, and Socially Responsible Agriculture Project (SRAP) for a FREE CAFO and water monitoring training on Saturday October 24\, 2026 from 9am-1pm at New First Baptist Church. \nDuplin County Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations\, or CAFOs\, pollute our water and are not effectively held accountable by the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ). Attendees will learn how CAFOs impact water and community health and how to monitor water quality and poultry CAFOs in Duplin County. Lunch and a light breakfast will be provided! \n\n\n8:30-9: Sign-in/coffee & light breakfast \n\n\n9-11:30: Training presentations and activities \n\n\n11:30-12:15: Water sampling demonstration \n\n\n12:15-1: Training wrap-up and lunch \n\n\nMore information\, including directions\, parking\, and other details will be shared closer to the event date.
