Bringing Data Sovereignty into Participatory Sciences
September 9 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDT

The IDEAL program and NCEJN invite you to a webinar on Bringing Data Sovereignty into Participatory Sciences. Anna Woodroof, a researcher and program manager at IDEAL, will facilitate a conversation with Hali Dardar, a Houma scholar who created the Uke’ Contracting System for data sovereignty in the context of oral histories. We’ll also hear from Kurt Naquin, a Houma scholar, writer, and community-engaged researcher, and Caren Cooper, director of IDEAL and professor of public science. We will discuss data sovereignty and what might be possible by adapting the Uke’ system to the context of participatory science projects. Wednesday September 9th • 3PM.
