Toxic Legacy in West Badin

Join Reimagining America Project for their event “Toxic Legacy in West Badin” they will discuss the health issues resulting from hazardous wastes in the section of Badin, North Carolina, known as West Badin. These hazardous wastes were deposited there from the aluminum smelter operation of Alcoa, which closed down in 2007. The program will explore how the wastes were deposited, how they affect human health, and how the risk from these wastes might be mitigated.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 10th • 6:00PM-8:00PM at the Atrium Stanly Special Events Center (301 Yadkin St., Albemarle, NC 28001).
