Corey Curtis (he/him) joined NCEJN in September 2024 as an intern, and is excited to serve in a new capacity as Research and Education Coordinator. In this position, he will leverage research to advance community-led advocacy goals, build collective power, and strengthen EJ relationships across the state. He recently graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Health Sciences from UNC-CH Gillings School of Global Public Health, and lives in Durham, NC. His interests include disaster resilience, participatory mapping, hyperlocal autonomous organizing, and industrial and occupational health. Corey is also a professional printmaker, zinemaker, and graphic designer; he’s served as Lead Artist for the Southern Appalachian ecology publication Mergoat Magazine (Volume 2, Issue 2: Dissembling the Split Rail), Art Director for the UNC Health Humanities Journal (2023-26) and Creative Director for WXYC 89.3fm Chapel Hill.
