It was not my intention to write you twice during the same week, but I am glad to do so! After sending you the newsletter, early yesterday morning, I received two emails informing me of additional events that should be in your inbox.

  • Tomorrow, April 5th at 4.30 pm, Dr. Farhana Sultana will give a public lecture at NCSU. Dr. Farhana Sultana is an internationally recognized interdisciplinary scholar whose research interests include water governance, climate justice, political ecology, critical development studies, transnational feminist theories, critical urban studies, social justice, human rights, citizenship, decolonizing, and South Asia. Her talk is entitled Climate Justice in a Time of Expansive Climate ColonialityYou may also join the live stream of the lecture here.(more details below)

  • Next week, Saturday April 13, from 11 – noon, there is a public workshop entitled: Rural Transportation: Building Clean Connected Communities in Marion, NC. This event is designed for residents of rural areas and their advocates interested in finding transportation solutions for their communities. (The Southern Environmental Law Center is also organizing a similar event in Wilson,, so sty tuned for an Eastern NC workshop.)   • And the week after that, on Saturday April 20 from 2 – 5 pm in Raleigh, join community organizers for an “Anti-capitalist Earth Day Celebration” and a really really free market.
